Few places are as romantic as Kauai—and few hotels cater to romantics to the extent that this one does. Weddings can be seen almost any day, and the hotel is full of honeymooners, folks on anniversary or vacationing lovebirds. Of course, people who are not in the middle of a great romance can also appreciate this gracious hotel and its gorgeous beach front setting. A myriad of entertainment options are within easy driving distance, but fine dining can be enjoyed right on the property at Bali Hai.

We loved it. It was spotlessly clean and a great value in an amazing location. \n \nThere are plenty of restaurants and grocery stores around and the room we stayed in came with a full kitchen (and it was a real fully-stocked kitchen, in terms of pots, pans, dishes, toaster, microwave, and silverware, with an almost full-sized fridge) which means that you can save a bundle on food if you shop and cook yourself. \n \nThere is also a dining table that seats four. \n \nIf you have a family this could mean hundreds of dollars as Kaua'i is pricey no matter what. We only made breakfast and snacks in our room but that still must have saved us $300 for two people over ten days. And we got to have the wonderful portugese sausage that we can't get at home. \n \nPlus the fridge to keep sodas, water, juice, cold must have saved us a fortune too. Hanalei Bay even provides a blender to make your own Mai Tais. \n \nThe view was gorgeous from our room -- and we had a balcony, I think every room does. Access to Hanalei Bay and the North shore and the east shore of Kaua'i was very easy. \n \nMy only caveat would be that room and maid service almost do not exist (I think the maids come once every three days). But if you asked for extra towels or pillows the staff would provide them ASAP. The staff was VERY nice. I would suggest you bring your own beach towels. \n \nThere are also laundry rooms, which were priceless on a ten day trip. \n \nAlso if you have a bad back you might want to go to another place. We were fine on the sofa mattress, and so tired from hiking, swimming and body boarding all day that it wouldn't have mattered what we slept on. \n \nAll in all, I would go back in a heartbeat. It was one of the best experiences I've had in a hotel ever, and I've been in ones that cost 5 times what Hanalei Bay does.
06 Jun 2005 | A Yahoo! UserThis side of Kauai is so lovely. Our condo at Hanalei Bay Resort was an unexpected pleasure when our original destination (near the airport) becaame unavailable. How could we say no to replacing it with this? We were so lucky. We found such authentic Hawaiian music, sights and beaches. Fantastic trip.
06 Jun 2005 | A Yahoo! UserAbsolutely beautiful resort. Had a spacious "Standard Studio with Kitchen" with sleeper sofa. Bed reasonably comfortable for a sofa bed. But resort is to beautiful to spend much time inside anyway. Gorgeous pool, quiet beautiful beach at about 7 min. walk. Pleasant and courteous service. If you like stunning natural beauty and peacefulness, this is the place. Definitely plan to return next year.
